Performing & Competition
The school provides a number of opportunities for students to perform and/or
participate in dance competitions.

Visitor's Day
Visitors' Day is held in December on the last day of class during the Winter session
as an opportunity for families and friends to observe what has been accomplished so far in
class. Under the direction of the teacher, students perform an informal studio presentation
of class work. Class is followed by refreshments and an opportunity to discuss upcoming
programs and classes. For the upcoming Visitor's Day dates, see the current 'Memos to Students /
Parents'.

Student Concert
The annual Student Concert is held in June, at the end of the school
year. This year's concert is scheduled for Saturday June 7 at 2:00 and 7:00 p.m. The Saturday
evening show will feature all
the competition pieces and students ages 7 and up. The Saturday
matinee performance will feature
all students ages 3 and up, and a preshow of selected competition pieces. More specific information
will be made available and sent home with the students in December 2007.
The purpose of the student concert is to showcase each class at their level in an original
dance performance. All students from age 3 through adult are encouraged to participate.
Choreography is taught as part of the class curriculum starting in the winter months,
throughout the Spring session. Participants are required to attend all classes and mandatory rehearsals in the theatre the
of the production. In addition to tuition
payments, participants are responsible for costume fees. Tickets are sold to cover theatre
rental and production expenses. Students will have the opportunity to attend the annual studio
photo shoot and purchase professional videos of the performance.

Competition Teams
Competition teams are selected by audition only. These classes participate in our
annual Nutcracker performance and represent our school in competitions throughout the
Baltimore/Washington area throughout the year. The purpose of the competition teams is
to provide a more intensive performance and training experience for those serious students
who desire to pursue dance either as an avocation or a profession.
Our school competition teams will be attending the following
competitions:
1. Starpower Regionals - April 4 through 6, 2008 in UpperMarlboro -

Special
Performances
Our Nutcracker production is very unique in that we take the production on the road
to various locations in the Baltimore/Washington area visiting senior centers,
festivals, malls and museums. The performance is about 1 hour in length,
is open to the public, and is an ideal holiday outing for families with young children,
seniors and all ages.
See "News" for dates and locations.
